If you’ve taken our advice and gifted a getaway, you received the gift of a trip, or you just decided to take a trip: you’re in luck. Winter in the Outer Banks is beautiful and relatively mild- with lower temperatures in the 20’s and higher in the 40’s (Fahrenheit). Just like anywhere, temperatures tend to be cooler near bodies of water.
Below are some upcoming events- we tried to do some of each, so everyone has something they love! But rest assured, there truly is something for everyone, even if we missed it in our blog!
Winter Lights at the Elizabethan Gardens
Date and Time: Select Dates through November and December. 6 PM to 9 PM.
Location: Manteo, NC.
Cost: Adults are $16, and youth and child tickets are $12 and $8, respectively. Infants are free, and dogs are welcome for $5!
Highlights: Beautiful lights, Santa, Face painting, solo musicians, and carolers!

Holiday Tour of Homes
Date and Time: December 3rd from 1 PM to 6 PM.
Location: Manteo, NC.
Cost: $10
Highlights: This tour is great for those who love and appreciate any of the following: history, architecture, beautiful homes, and the holiday season. The tour also hosts a raffle and offers bicycles for free on a first-come, first-serve basis. The tour starts on the bustling Budleigh Street, so if you work up an appetite or a desire for shopping, you are in the perfect place!

First Flight Anniversary
Date and Time: December 17th. 9 AM.
Location: Kill Devil Hills, NC
Cost: Park entrance fees are waived on this day.
Highlights: Celebrate the accomplishment of the Wright brothers on the 118th anniversary of their first flight!

Shuck Hatteras Oyster Festival
Date and Time: December 16th from 5 PM to 9 PM. December 17th starting at 1 PM.
Location: Rodanthe, NC.
Cost: $25 per ticket.
Highlights: This event has it all: live music, amazing food, local vendors, games, and an all-you-can-eat oyster roast.
